A magnificent journey to discover the impressive biological diversity of the Bemaraha National Park, admire a beautiful sunset among the baobabs, climb the peaks of the Tsingy and explore the fauna and flora species as well as the traditions of the inhabitants of the South-West of Madagascar.
Upon landing at Ivato International Airport, our guide and driver will greet you with a warm "tongasoa à Madagascar", meaning "welcome to Madagascar." They will escort you to your hotel.
After settling in, enjoy dinner and rest for the night at the hotel Le Palissandre or a similar.
For the second day of your tour of southwest Madagascar, your guide, who also acts as your driver, will take you to the village of Miandrivazo, located on the banks of the River of Tsiribihina .
Along the way, you will be amazed by the rice terraces, characteristic of the Malagasy Highlands, as well as the traditional mud houses with tiled or thatched roofs.
A stop is planned in the town of Ambatolampy, a former military district founded by Radama I, renowned for its workshops producing pots and various aluminum kitchenware. Here, the blacksmithing and foundry trades are passed down from generation to generation.
This stop is dedicated to a brief exploration of the blacksmith shop and one of the foundry workshops in town. The journey continues to the spa town of Antsirabe, capital of the Vakinankaratra region. Lunch in the town of Antsirabe.
In the afternoon, you will head west towards the village of Miandrivazo, arriving around 6:00 p.m.
Check-in, dinner and night at the hotel Princess Tsiribihina or similar.
On the third day of your itinerary in southwest Madagascar, after breakfast, you will head to Morondava, the capital of Menabe.
During your journey, you will have the opportunity to admire the magnificent landscapes of the south and see baobab trees before your scheduled arrival in the capital, Menabe.
Check-in, dinner, and overnight stay at the hotel Chez Maggie or similar.
After breakfast, you will hit the road towards Bekopaka, where a long day of driving along the region's trails awaits you. A brief stop at Baobab Avenue for some photos is a must. Following this sunrise photo opportunity among the baobabs, you will continue to the River of Tsiribihina, cross it by ferry, and disembark in the village of Belo-sur-Tsiribihina.
After a hearty meal, you will head back along the trail to explore the small Tsingy of Bemaraha. You will also cross the River of Manambolo by ferry to reach the opposite bank, before finally arriving in the village of Bekopaka.
Check-in at your hotel Olympe du Bemaraha or similar. Dinner and Night.
Early morning departure to explore the Big Tsingy, located 25 km to the north. Your adventure begins with a canoe trip through the Gorge of Manambolo , leading to the bat caves and the burial site of the "Vazimba" little men, before marveling at the majestic Great Tsingy of Bemaraha. Do not forget the suspension bridge and its viewpoints offering breathtaking panoramas across the entire park.
The Tsingy, with their sharp, pointed karst limestone formations reaching 60 meters in height, are home to numerous rare plant species and serve as a refuge for various animal species, including lemurs.
A picnic lunch is served during the excursion.
Return to the hotel towards the end of the afternoon. Dinner and overnight stay.
The adventure and the journey continue. We set off on the same road leading to Morondava, the administrative center of Menabe. After driving for four hours, we reach Belo-sur-Tsiribihina. Lunch is served on the way. In the afternoon, we will cross the River of Tsiribihina aboard the ferry for an hour.
This day of travel is memorable, as we arrive just in time to enjoy the spectacular sunset over the Avenue of the Baobabs. Do not forget to capture the different hues of the sky above the baobabs before bidding farewell to these magical trees.
Return to your hotel in Morondava around 7 p.m. Dinner and overnight stay.
For this last day of your South-West Madagascar tour, your driver and guide will join you for a visit to the local craft market, an ideal place to pick up souvenirs of your stay in Morondava.
To conclude the tour, they will take you to the airport of Morondava for your return trip to Antananarivo (the capital of Madagascar).
