A delightful journey through the must-see sites of northern Madagascar. Discover the wonders of biodiversity in Ankarana National Park, Amber Mountain National Park, and the Tsingy Rouge, and discover the mysteries of the Cyril Plantation.
For the first day of your trip to northern Madagascar, after being guided by your guide, we will take a speedboat to Ankify, where our vehicle awaits. We will take the RN6 to reach the village of Mahamasina, located at the entrance to Ankarana National Park. The landscape is characterized by lush vegetation, including travelers' trees, cocoa trees, mango trees, and coffee trees.
We will consider admiring this impressive Ankarana landscape after lunch. The hike is quite strenuous, requiring two hours of walking. Ankarana, known for its remarkable flora and fauna, is one of Madagascar's nature reserves.
The “Lac Vert” route allows you to explore the tsingy, immense limestone rocks shaped by erosion, as well as the bat caves and their colossal walls covered with nests.
At the end of our tour, we leave the village of Mahamasina behind and head to Joffreville.
Dinner and accommodation at Nature Lodge or similar .
On the second day of your trip to northern Madagascar, a visit to Amber Mountain National Park is planned. It is located approximately forty kilometers south of Diego Suarez and only three kilometers from Joffre Ville.
Following the trail through lush vegetation, you will discover an exceptional tropical garden, a primary rainforest, irrigated in various places by several rivers and sacred waterfalls. The flora is typical of Madagascar's tropical rainforests, consisting of travelers' trees, palm trees, orchids, pandanus trees, giant trees, and more.
The fauna is also tropical. There are seven species of lemurs in the park, five of which are active during the day and two at night, out of the 112 species found in the country. It is home to the world's smallest lemur, the red-faced Eulemur microcebus. As you stroll, you will have the opportunity to observe reptiles such as the Brookesia tuberculata, considered the smallest chameleon in the world, as well as more than 90 species of birds.
The second phase involves a visit to the private Red Tsingy Park, a globally unique phenomenon. Formed by the combination of rainwater and dense rock, the red tsingy results from the erosion of the sandstone-marl massif. Although these tsingy are delicate, you can admire them, particularly the large and small red tsingy, as well as the canyon. The red tsingy are distinguished by their more rounded shape compared to the tsingy of Bemaraha.
We continue our journey to the village of Mahamasina for an overnight stay. Accommodation and meals at "Chez Laurent" or similar.
After a day in Mahamasina, on your fifth day of travel in northern Madagascar, we visit the Cyril Plantation in Ambanja, known for its cocoa, coffee, vanilla, and pepper plantations.
After lunch, we head to Ankify, the embarkation point for the island of Nosy Be. Your guide will take you aboard a speedboat and take you back to Nosy Be.
Upon arrival on the fragrant island, the team will transfer you to your hotel.
