This 5-day, 4-night adventure is the perfect opportunity to explore northern Madagascar. You will be captivated by its breathtaking panoramas, exceptional flora and fauna, and vibrant, rich culture. Join us for this unforgettable adventure and let yourself be captivated by the magic of Madagascar.
On the first day of your northern Madagascar journey, you will depart early from Nosy Be and board a speedboat to Ankify. Once met by our team, we will take National Road 6 north, passing through the village of Mahamasina, where we will take a short break for lunch. Although part of the route is a bit challenging, the view is well worth it.
You will be amazed by the vastness of the landscapes and the beauty of the Red Tsingy, an exceptional and unique geological phenomenon caused by deforestation combined with slow erosion that has sculpted the area under the influence of wind and rain. The colors are more vivid in the afternoon, allowing for magnificent photos throughout your journey.
We will continue our journey to Joffre Ville, located 67 kilometers from the Red Tsingy.
Evening meal and accommodation at the Nature Lodge hotel or similar.
For the second day of your trip to northern Madagascar, after breakfast, we head to Amber Mountain. Amber Mountain National Park, which reaches an altitude of 1,475 meters, is located three kilometers from Joffre Ville and about forty kilometers south of Diego. It immerses us in a humid tropical jungle, watered at various points by several sacred streams and waterfalls.
A visit to the park is recommended to explore the various animal and plant species characteristic of the dense rainforests, which boast a high degree of endemism. There are over one hundred species of birds, seven types of lemurs, including the mouse lemur, the smallest of the lemurs, as well as the aye-aye. There are also fifty-nine species of reptiles such as chameleons: it is home to the world's smallest chameleon!
Picnic lunch on site. We arrive in Diego Suarez late in the day and check into our hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at the Hotel de la Poste or similar.
On the third day of your journey in northern Madagascar, starting at dawn on the way to the village of Ramena, we will take sandy and lateritic tracks that will reveal the authentic splendor of the pristine wooded nature dotted with Pachypodiums, all the way to the beach of Bay of Sakalava . A superb white sand beach whipped by the trade winds delights kitesurfing and windsurfing enthusiasts from all over the world.
From Bay Sakalava , we head to Bay of Dunes , another tropical treasure with crystal-clear waters. A break is planned to admire the oldest baobab tree in Antsiranana, if not the country. Continuing on our way, we come across Bay Pigeon , a former military zone bordered by diverse flora.
Ramena, lunch, and swimming! Return to the hotel around 4 p.m.
On the fourth day of your trip to northern Madagascar, we will leave Diego Suarez early in the morning and take National Road No. 6 towards Mahamasina.
Upon arrival, your guide will check you in at "Chez Laurent" or a similar establishment.
After lunch, we will explore the Ankarana National Park, known for its many natural treasures: its magnificent trees such as baobabs, its suspension bridges, the Tsingy with its sharp slopes which is a limestone massif similar to a forest of sharp stones sheltering many birds, snakes, chameleons, and without forgetting the lemurs which are inseparable from this place.
Return to the hotel around 5:00 p.m.
After a day in Mahamasina, the fifth day of your tour of northern Madagascar takes you to the Cyril Plantation in Ambanja, known for its cocoa, coffee, vanilla, and pepper crops.
After lunch, we head to Ankify, the embarkation point for the island of Nosy Be. Your guide will take you aboard a speedboat and take you back to Nosy Be.
Finally, the team will transfer you to your hotel.
