Details

Head to north of Madagascar on this 7 days and 6 nights tour that will allow you to explore the Amber Mountain and  National Park of Ankarana, the Red Tsingy, the stunning Emerald Sea, the sacred Lake of Anivorano , and the Three Bays. On the program, a moment of fishing and swimming!

Early departure, boarding a speedboat and crossing towards Ankify. We take National Road 6, which leads to the northern tip of the Big Island. Throughout the journey, magnificent landscapes unfold with the emergence of lush vegetation, travelers' trees, cocoa, mango, and coffee trees. A short break for lunch is planned in the village of Mahamasina.

After breakfast, head towards the Red Tsingy, another type of tsingy that differs from the tsingy of Bemaraha  by its more rounded shape. The Red Tsingy, sculpted by wind and rain, is the result of the erosion of this massif made of sandstone and marl. These tsingys are fragile, but you will have the opportunity to admire them, particularly the Big and Small Red Tsingy, as well as the Canyon. We then head to Diego Suarez, located 55 kilometers from the Red Tsingy.

In the afternoon, you will arrive in town and spend the night at the Hôtel de la Poste or  similar .

For the second day of this north Madagascar tour, the program includes a visit to  Ambre Mountain National Park, located about 40 km south of Diego Suarez. This park is home to a dense tropical rainforest that reaches about 40 m in height.

This guided tour through the park will allow you to explore the vegetation characteristic of Madagascar's tropical rainforests. Whether you are a botany enthusiast or not, this lush world of orchids, palm trees, ficus trees, and medicinal plants will pleasantly surprise you.

In terms of biodiversity, the region is home to a wide variety of lemurs belonging to different species: the crowned lemur, the Sanford's lemur, the mouse lemur, and the aye-aye, among others.

Your journey through northern Madagascar will also allow you to observe chameleons and birds: wild pigeons, lesser crested kingfishers, herons, parrots and owls, frogs, millipedes, and geckos. You will be amazed by the charm of the sacred waterfalls and crater lakes surrounding the forest. Enjoy the magnificent images of your trip to Madagascar.

Lunch at the park's campsite. Return to the hotel around 4:30 p.m.

Departure is early for Ramena Beach. Along the way, be sure to appreciate the charm of the bay, Sugarloaf Mountain, and its fascinating history. Do not hesitate to capture unforgettable images during your visit to the north of Lemur Island. We will pay a brief visit to the endemic baobab tree and its mysteries, located at the foot of the "French Mountain."

In Ramena, with its beautiful beach, you will have the opportunity to sail on a sailboat equipped with an additional engine for a more authentic experience. During the crossing, you will likely encounter kitesurfers and other dhows. Indeed, the Diego region is a favorite destination for water sports enthusiasts and professionals worldwide.

After an hour sailing from Ramena, you will arrive at a small islet where traditional huts will protect you from the wind. On site, you will have the opportunity to sunbathe, snorkel, or explore the islet.

At the same time, you will have the chance to enjoy Malagasy cuisine prepared by a professional team, as well as a selection of seafood such as freshly grilled fish, crab, or lobster, and coconut rice.

Dinner will be served on site, and we will provide a tent for each couple and the children to spend the night.

After breakfast, you can try your hand at longline fishing to catch various types of fish. Lunch on the beach. Swimming in the afternoon!

Time flies. Return to Ramena and then to Diego Suarez.

Day five of this north Madagascar tour: for this day, we will offer a trip to the village of Ramena. Traveling along the sandy laterite paths, we will discover the authentic splendor of the wooded Pachypodiums and the wild nature, until we reach the Bay of Sakalava. A superb white sand beach whipped by the trade winds delights kitesurfing and windsurfing enthusiasts from all over the world.

From the Bay of Sakalava, we head towards the Bay of Dunes, another tropical treasure with its crystal-clear waters. Continuing along the trail, we come across the Bay of Pigeon, Cap Miné, a former French military site that houses a lighthouse and the remains of fortifications overlooking the Bay of Diego Suarez. Do not miss the area's monumental historic baobab tree.

Ramena, lunch, and swimming! Return to the hotel around 4 p.m. .

The next morning, head to Park  of Ankarana via National Road 6, located 108 kilometers from the Diego Suarez. Stop in the village of Mahamasina for lunch at a restaurant.

In the afternoon, your journey continues through northern Madagascar to the Ankarana Massif. This site, which stretches over a distance of 35 kilometers and is of coral origin, is naturally home to species of flora and fauna unique to Madagascar.

Come explore its treasures: the sacred bat cave, the water loss, a huge excavation in the riverbed where the water disappears during the rainy season, the Tsingy with its sharp ridges, a limestone massif resembling a forest of sharp, knife-like stones with its endemic lemurs, snakebirds, and more.

Check-in, dinner, and overnight stay at the Relais de L'Ankarana or similar.

After breakfast, we set off along the road to Ankify, the embarkation point for the island of Nosy Be. Your guide will take you aboard a speedboat and return you to Nosy Be.

Finally, once you arrive at the dock on Perfume Island, the team will escort you to your hotel.
