Details

A magnificent journey to discover the impressive biological diversity of the Bemaraha National Park, admire a beautiful sunset among the baobabs, climb the peaks of the Tsingy and explore the fauna and flora species as well as the traditions of the inhabitants of the South-West of Madagascar.

Upon arrival at Ivato International Airport, our driver-guide will warmly welcome you with a “Tongasoa à Madagascar,” meaning “Welcome to Madagascar.”

You will then be escorted to your hotel.

After settling in, enjoy a pleasant dinner before relaxing for the night at the Palissandre Hotel or a similar establishment.

After breakfast, set off toward the village of Miandrivazo, located on the banks of the Tsiribihina River.

Along the way, marvel at the beautiful terraced rice fields of the Highlands and the traditional mud-brick houses with tile or thatched roofs.

A stop is scheduled in Ambatolampy, a former military district founded by Radama I, now renowned for its foundries producing aluminum pots and kitchen utensils—a craft passed down from generation to generation.

Continue on to the spa town of Antsirabe, the capital of the Vakinankaratra region, for lunch, then head west toward Miandrivazo.

Arrival is expected in the late afternoon.

Check in, enjoy dinner, and spend the night at Princess Tsiribihina Hotel or similar.

After breakfast, drive to Morondava, the capital of the Menabe region.

This journey offers the opportunity to admire the characteristic landscapes of western Madagascar, punctuated by majestic baobabs heralding your arrival in this coastal town.

Check in, dine, and overnight at Chez Maggie or a similar hotel.

After breakfast, depart early for Bekopaka. This day is dedicated to an off-road adventure and discovering the region’s hidden gems.

Your first stop will be at the iconic Baobab Avenue for a photo session at sunrise.

You will then continue to the Tsiribihina River, cross it by ferry, and pause in Belo-sur-Tsiribihina for a traditional lunch.

The journey resumes toward the Small Tsingy of Bemaraha, followed by another ferry crossing of the Manambolo River before finally reaching Bekopaka.

Check in, dinner, and overnight at Olympe du Bemaraha or similar.

Set off early to explore the Great Tsingy of Bemaraha, located 25 km north of the village.

Your adventure begins with a pirogue ride through the Manambolo Gorge, where you will visit bat-filled caves and discover the burial sites of the island’s earliest inhabitants, the Vazimba.

Continue to the spectacular limestone formations of the Great Tsingy, natural cathedrals rising up to 60 meters high.

This UNESCO site shelters rare plant species and serves as a refuge for various animals, including lemurs.

Enjoy a picnic lunch during the excursion.

Return to the hotel in the late afternoon, followed by dinner and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, take the same route back to Morondava.

Stop for lunch in Belo-sur-Tsiribihina, then cross the Tsiribihina River again by ferry.

In the late afternoon, you will witness one of western Madagascar’s most enchanting sights: the sunset over Baobab Avenue, where the sky’s changing colors illuminate these iconic trees.

Check in, dinner, and overnight in Morondava.

To conclude your trip, your guide will take you to visit the local craft market, the perfect place to find souvenirs of your stay in Morondava.

You will then be transferred to Morondava Airport for your return flight to Antananarivo.
