The Horizons Baobabs West 7D/6N tour takes you to discover the spectacular western region of Madagascar, renowned for its majestic baobabs, the legendary tracks of Menabe, and the impressive Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Between the terraced rice fields of the Highlands, traditional villages, ferry crossings, pirogue trips, and iconic sunsets, this journey offers a complete immersion into authentic Madagascar.

Upon arrival at Ivato International Airport, our guide-driver will welcome you with a warm “Tongasoa” – Welcome to Madagascar.


Transfer to your hotel in the heart of the capital. Check-in and free time to rest after your international flight.


Dinner and overnight at:

Hotel Palissandre Antananarivo (or equivalent)

Charming hotel with panoramic city views, refined restaurant, and elegant atmosphere.

After breakfast, depart westward, crossing the magnificent terraced rice fields of the Malagasy Highlands.


Stop at Ambatolampy, known for its traditional aluminum foundries, where pots are made using ancestral craftsmanship.


Lunch in Antsirabe, an elegant thermal city nicknamed the “Malagasy Vichy”.


Continue to Miandrivazo, gateway to the Menabe region and a strategic point along the Tsiribihina River.

Head to Morondava, the capital of Menabe and an iconic coastal town in western Madagascar.


The landscape gradually changes: arid savannas, Sakalava villages, and the first giant baobabs herald your arrival in this legendary region.

Charming hotel overlooking the Mozambique Channel, with a pool and spectacular sunsets.

Early departure to admire the sunrise over the famous Avenue of the baobabs, one of Madagascar’s most photographed sites.


Continue to Belo-sur-Tsiribihina, crossing the Tsiribihina River by ferry. Typical lunch along the way.


Drive on dirt tracks to the small Tsingy of Bemaraha, then cross the Manambolo River by ferry to reach Bekopaka.

Comfortable lodge in the heart of nature, ideal starting point to explore the Tsingy.

A full day dedicated to discovering the spectacular Great Tsingy of Bemaraha, true limestone cathedrals reaching up to 60 meters high.


Before exploring the hanging bridges and vertiginous ridges, enjoy a pirogue descent through the Manambolo Gorges. Visit natural caves sheltering bats and funerary remains of the Vazimba, the island’s first inhabitants.


Possible observation of lemurs and endemic birds in this unique natural sanctuary of Madagascar.


Picnic lunch in the park. Return to the hotel in the late afternoon.

Hotel Olympe du Bemaraha

Return to Morondava via Belo-sur-Tsiribihina, with a ferry crossing of the river.


Late in the day, an unmissable stop to witness the  sunset over the Avenue of the Baobabs : a magical moment as the sky ignites behind the giant silhouettes of these millennia-old trees.
